Alpine?
กกก Hi all !!!
I just got my Z and I'm already thinking about changing the stock audio system, but this is my first time changing the audio system so I've got some (newbie) questions. I thought about Alpine products, I think it's a good company, but how i've said before, it's my first time and I'm not sure about using Alpine's products. Any good/bad aspects about Alpine? if, finally, I choose Alpine, I've seen the MRD-M1001 Amp, but I don't want to fill my trunk with all the audio system, I want to use it as what it is, but this is a huge amp, and one I think is enough filled space in the trunk. Is any posibility to connect two subs this one mono amp? the subs I thought are the new X-series SWX-1242D or the R-series SWR-1241D.
Any good/bad aspects about this subs?
Thanks

I have a Alpine HU with an Alpine amp pushing the front and rears. I prefer Alpine HUs. I don't care too much for Alpine subs.
I recommend JL Audio amps and subs. I have a JL audio 500/1 (it is a mono amp) pushing 2 12" JL subs (12w3). The 500/1 is just barely keeping up. If you don't require too much out of your subs, the 500/1 is a good amp to push two 12s.
Couple of things to keep in mind.
Go to a local audio shop and listen for yourself. Everyone has their own opinion/preference. The shop should also help you with maintaining the correct ohm configs.
Sub location and the box are both very important to the quality of sound.

Alpine Head Units simply rock. Unless you want a LCD screen, go with Alpine. Their CDA line rocks, and the display on hte 9835 is awesome. I choose a JL Audio 10w6v2 which is 400watts at 4ohms matched with a phoenix gold 400x1 at 4ohms and it simply pounds, yet is still tight and responsive. The phoenix gold can sit under the hidden floor in the glove box, and i fit a 300x4 JL Audio amp in the glove box, and mounted the sub behind the drivers seat for a completely stealth look(by using the stock bose sub panel) I couldnt be happier.
