Default Service Engine Light came on--- Dealer Response

I had the Service engine soon light come on while driving down the road. I did recently have the Stillen Exhaust installed but no wiring was touched and the battery stayed connected. I was wondering if it was related to my up coming oil change. I had it in today and asked the guy at the dealership if it could be related. He said no and that something was wrong with the sensors and he was seeing a lot of cars coming in with the lights on. He said the could fix it by dumbing down the sensors but it would take half a day to do it and suggested coming back another day.

Anyone else heard of this or is it more dealership B.S.?

Dumbing down the sensors doesn't fix the problem! It only fixes the symptom. I think the mechanic was dumbing down his offer. The light coming on isn't the problem, its WHY the light comes on.
