So, I just finished reading the thread about everybody with 2003's and some 2004's having to replace their transmissions. It seems like almost everybody did it. I just picked up my 03Z from NY yesterday and just got back home in Michigan today. I have 12k+ miles on the car and the tranny seems fine. My question for 2003 owners is: Who hasn't replaced their transmission yet? And how many miles do you have?
The first thread in that link titled "Post here only if you have had your TRANNY replaced" is the one i just read. Seems like everybody here has replaced it. So, my question was the opposite... who HASN'T replaced it yet. Is there anybody out there with a significant number of miles who hasn't?
4/03 original tranny/clutch/25k, no need to add oil in between oil changes every 4-5k miles. Best car ever owned so far. Excellent gas mileage also btw.
I don't think I needed to replace my tranny/clutch and Flywheel set up, but when I first got the car I knew I had a Warrantee on that stuff, so I began drifting in the car when I first got it, and took it to Nissan and they did what I expected (changed it). But had I not practiced drifting....I don't think it would have needed to be changed...
59k same tranny/clutch . Just recalled parts replaced... strong as an ox and I drive it like I stole it everyday....but I recently am starting to have a grinding in 5th if I granny shift so have been powershifting into 5th to stop the grind but that is it.
11k, 2003, no problemos....I think you get the point now, it wasnt EVERY 2003-4 that had problems, if we knew exactly why they have the bad trans it would have been posted here. Good luck.
