Angry Dealerships keep avoiding my repair requests

I've had that gear-grind into 5th on my '03 for about a year now and everytime I take it to the dealer, they tell me they couldn't find the problem. But it's clearly noticeable, I literaly have to wait like 1 second to put it into 5th, otherwise it grinds. Forget downshifting into 5th, it's even worse. I've been to two dealierships and they give me the same excuse. At this point, I don't know what to do. Have any of you had the same experience with a dealer not acknowleding your repairs? Were you able to get them to do it eventually? Any tips? This is really souring my whole Z experience, I hate that damn grinding! Any help is appreciated, thanks in advance.

I don't know how their supposed to do it but at this dealer, the guy says, "just leave the car with us and we'll call you when it's fixed". Then they take all day and call back just before they're gonna close the shop and tell me that they took it out on the road and didn't find anything, WTF!. Should I just try another place or are these guys acting shady and need to be exposed?

+1. You have entered the world of cannot duplicate. Do not fret. There is a cure. Take a drive with the service manger. The manager drives - you are the passenger. Kind of difficult to deny when you are in the car.

Amen brother. You gotta be very firm with dealer service department. your problem had to do with the fact that you took it to a sales rep not a service writer or director. Take your prob straight to the service director and demand that one of his flunkies do a ride along to witness the grind. let them know that you're not going anywhere until the problem is remedied.

I'll try talking with the manager. But it's stupid that I'd have to be doing this in the first place because of their poor customer service habits. Anyway, if this doesn't work, I'm going elsewhere. BTW, anyone know any decent dealerships in the NY Metro area? I'm not looking for any royal treatment, just the good service that a dealer should offer to customers who shelled out 30K for their product.

Thanks for the input playaz.
