Default Quick Questions

I am going to be taking my 04 6MT Base to the dealership on the 28th. I have multiple transmission problems going on. I get a slight grind (Just feels lke it clicks into gear) into 3rd constantly, I get a really rough grind into 5th when I am over 4K RPMS, and now within the last month the transmission is "whining" for about the 1st 20 minutes of me driving the car. So I am hoping they can fix this annoying whine and the grind, or better yet just give me a new tranny.

Now for the questions

If I take it down there and they are ripping my car apart and find absolutly nothing wrong with the tranny (defintaly something wrong, but hypothetically considering how dealerships are) am I going to be charged all the labor of them tearing it apart and putting it back together?

And also I have heard that a lot of the people that have been getting new transmissions up near my mileage (Just hit 50K the other day) Nissan will not replace the tranny without also replacing the Clutch and flywheel. Is this true? And if so do they have to be NEW? Because there are always some pretty good deals on slightly used cluth/flywheel assemblies on the classifieds.

Thanks for reading I know I said quick and I think I drew it out a little longer than it had to be

Dealerships love to do work for free and are not concerned with making a profit, thus I doubt they will charge you anything. Also, I have some ocean front property in Colorado that I want to sell you. Just kidding you, but I think you know the answer to the dealership question, now don't you?

yes, you will be charged for labor. It's like going to the doctor. Even if he doesn't find anything clinically wrong with you you're still going to pay for the doctor's visit.
