Replacing Hardware w/ Stainless
Forgive me if this topic has been brought up before. If it has, I'd appreciate a link to that thread. I did a quick search on the topic before posting.
I'm wondering if anyone has attempted to compile a list of hardware (nuts and bolts) on the Z/G to replace them w/ stainless hardware? I've had my Z for 4 years now and I'd like to keep it for much longer. I've already replaced a few bits of hardware w/ stainless when installing the aftermarket exhaust and suspension, but I'd like to go further, particularly the little nuts & bolts that are used for lower body panels and underbody reinforcments sincethey tend to corrode faster due to it's exposure.
I see kits like this: http://www.courtesyparts.com/Merchan...Code=SSPOL-Z33
But they seem more suited for visual purposes rather than something ro facilitate working on the car.
I have a '96 S14 that I'm finding that I use exessive force and/or WD-40 when working on it due to corroded hardware. Plus the huge PITA when I do break an old rusted bolt. I haven't tried anti-size products, but would they prevent the heads of the nuts or bolts from corroding as well? Is there a chance that nuts & bolts torqued to spec would work loose? I enjoy working on the Z for the fact that everything is still relatively clean and easy to remove albeit more complicated to get to at times when compared to my S14.

Is your Z kept garaged? Like you, I have had my Z for 4 years now and have done quite a bit of modifying to it. I have not noticed any excessive corrosion at all on any parts and don't anticipate much due to the fact that it's parked in the garage when not driven.
My wife's car is the same year and it's parked in the driveway. There is obviously more corrosion going on with her's both in the engine bay and under the car.

You know... now that you mentioned it.... my wife's car is the same (it's in the driveway). Maybe it would make more sense if I changed the harware on the cars outside than the Z.
