Default cruise control set blinking/bad

am i the first one to have this problem, i noticed when i tried going on cruise that it wasnt working and then i looked to my gauge and saw that the cruise light was on but the set was blinking so i turned it off, turned it on and it the same thing, goiing to the dealership next week but just want to know anyone out there experience this...im thinking the button/switch just need to be depressed.

I've never seen mine blink before. I would have them check it out.

This is what I found in the manual:

When the ECM detects any of the following conditions, the ECM will cancel the cruise operation and inform the driver by blinking indicator lamp.

- Engine coolant temperature is slightly higher than the normal operating temperature, CRUISE lamp may blink slowly.

--- When the engine coolant temperature decreases to the normal operating temperature, CRUISE lamp will stop blinking and the cruise operation will be able to work by pressing SET/COAST switch or RESUME/ACCELERATE switch.

- Malfunction for some self-diagnoses regarding ASCD control: SET lamp will blink quickly.

I know this is an old thread, but just got a blinking set light. Will do that until I shut the car off and turn it back on. It happened out of no were and freaked me out. I never use the Cruise Control, so noticing that light blinking that fast I noticed rite away. Any suggestions?

I know you were trying to be helpful, but you left some things out. When the ECM detect what conditions?
