Default Fixing rim damage

OK, I confess--I actually have been taking my Z to a local car wash, but no longer! I recently noticed that three of the four rims have scratches/damage like you would expect from "curbing" them. I take the blame for one 'two inch' section of damage on the front right rim from doing just this, but that's it. I'm the only one who's driven the car, so I have to believe it's from the guide rails in the carwash? Regardless of the cause, I'm looking for something relatively easy to smooth out these relatively minor blemishes, as opposed to taking it to a body guy who will charge who knows what? Anyone have any ideas?

Default wheel

I used a fine polishing stone and die grinder (dremel tool) and carfully smoothed the damaged area. I also feathed it to the undamaged area. Once I got smooth to the touch, I used Wheel touch-up paint GM Part number 12346497. It is a good match!

I know it is there and often dont notice it when I am cleaning the wheels. Of course I see it when I look for it, but I doubt that any casual observers will see it.

If you do a search of this site, I also read about a bondo repair.

Where would one get a fine polishing stone and a dremel tool?

I haven't had a chance to go get them (polishing stone/dremel tool) yet, but the first places I will be checking are hardware stores (Home Depot/Lowes) and Sears.

Thanks for posting. I took a bite out of my rim yesterday, and I will try your method today.
