Default HELP ! Locked Gear Box ?????????????

So i got my test pipes installed like 4 days ago. I now have the HKS ti dual matched up to the UTR resonated test pipes. During the install my shop ran out of 02 bung censors .. so they told me to come back as soon as they got some in this next week. I thought that it was just throw a CEL light " service engine soon " or whatever and it did come on later that day as planned. Well now every time I start my car I cant put it into gear. It wont go into 1st or reverse no matter what. I even wait for the car to warm up for 5 even 10 minutes it stil dosent go into gear. After 10 minutes of waiting and trying again and again gently .. it wont go. So I turn the car off and while the car is off I can now flip through the gear box fine ! ??? When I turn the car back on and try again with new hope ... same thing happens. Wont go into gear. Im wondering if the lack of an 02 censor is causing my car to be smart and lock up like that ???? My car also stalled out the first time i started it .. like it was weak.. so i had to give it some gas to stay alive ( is this because of lack of back pressure now ?? Do you guys with test pipes and free flowing exhaust experience the low rpm's and threat of stalling ?? ). Is this all because of an 02 censor ..it has messed with my whole elctronic system and ecu etc ???? Sounds right concidering I have no prior problems before isntalling the test pipes. Anyone shed light on my situation pleaseeee?

PS I thought that the gear box difficulty was because of how cold it is in So Cal right now .. another thread started because of similar issues .. with it being heard to put into 1st and 2nd when u first start your car. That it was lack of tranny fluid and that it was very cold and ur tranny fluid needed time to warm up. Well mine is completley locked even after I let the car warm up so i now believe its something different. grrrrrrr

Also, if i bring my car down to the NISSAN Dealership, will they have any warrenty issues concidering I got test pipes and exhaust ???

^^ I think im going to wait for my shop to open at 9 or 10am and call them to explain whats going on. If they say that the 02 censor will fix this, then ill just bring it to them. I would like to keep my dealership in the dark about my test pipes/exhaust for the most part. That way if anything goes wrong I can sub them out before i take my car there and not have any problems over a warrenty or whatever.

Throw the new O2 sensor on there and see if that fixes the problem.

Now my gear box seems to be fine ??? This problem cant be from my test pipes then because if that was the case it would be a constant problem until I put in the 02 sensor in. The problem went away after consistantly starting the engine up and attempting to put it into gear while revving it up a little. But again theres no way that its the cold weather either ... I live in So Cal and even though we are seeing our coldest weather ever its still nothing compared to NY, NJ etc I dont understand why my gearbox would lock up like that .. even after I let me car warm up to its running temp it still wouldnt go in. It was like 30 minutes later that i went back outside and tried again .. it finally went into first. Thereafter it went into second etc .. was fine for the rest of the morning. But for me to have to play around and let me car sit for 30 minjtes is really weird. Im going to get my 02 sensors put in regardless so that my service engine light goes away and my ECU stops going crazy .. I dont see this solving my tranny problem though ????? Anyone else ever have there gearbox lock up on them like this?? Im going to change my oil (mobile 1 5w30) tomarrow and my tranny fluid (w/ redline) .. I have not yet done that since I bought the car 2 months ago from the dealer.

did you try any other gears other than first?

rarely, i have to put it in another gear first throttle it some, then go back into first after rocking the car.

I tried every gear possible ... trust me I tried everything from revving to rocking my car back and forth .. you name it. I just dont undertsand how one minute it can be locked up and cant do anything .. to working perfectly for the rest of the day. Happened 2 days in a row now after it sits outside overnight and I come out to it in the morning. My dad has a 06 g35 in the garage and it dosent happen to his gear box ????

I don't quite understand what you mean by "Locked up", do you have an automatic or standard tranny? If it's a standard does it grind or just not allow you to shift? If it's automatic will it allow you to move the shifter or is the stick locked?

I have a standard and have never had a problem with the cold, I don't think that there's any safety device on the standard that would prevent putting it in gear, only the clutch depressed switch for starting. If it's auto then there's a switch that reads that the brake is depressed to allow the shifter to be taken out of park.

Maybe some water got into something and is freezing causing this, just a thought.

I have a 6spd tranny and Im almost positive at this point that its just the cold weather in the mornings that is turning my tranny fluid into malasis(however you spell it). Im going to change out my tranny fluid because it is probably the wrong one. If its taking this long for the car to warm up the tranny fluid, the previos owner must have put the wrong fluids in(I bought it pre-owned at nissan).
