Default TPS not reading correctly

I have a 2003 track model with 44,000 miles. The tps keeps showing that I have 29 to 30lbs of preassure in my tires. When I check the preassure there is 33 to 34 lbs in each tire.

Has anyone else had this problem and can I fix it myself or do I have to go the dealer??

I'd verify it using another quality gauge and it is off take it to the dealer if your under the 3/36 warranty.

IMO the stock TPS is good for giving you close numbers, checking your air at regular intervals is still the best way to watch your air pressure.

i agree with the tech. my tps gauge's reading was never identical to the longacre tire pressure gauge.

The TPS units are designed to be accurate within ±1psi. If you're reading tire pressures with one of those cheap pencil-type or dial gauges, I would definitely suspect the gauge. I have a QuickCar Race gauge that I use and it and the sensors pretty much always agree.

That's not to say that the sensor can't go bad and misread, but if they are all off, I'd suspect the gauge you're using before the sensor.
