Question Potential damage ?

Hi

This morning whilst driving my 350z I accidently smacked the bottom of the car on the kerb and heard a really loud noise.

I've looked under the car and can't see any intial damage, could I have done anything bad ?

Thanks

Did you hit the front of the car or back?

Underneath on the left hand side, sounded like it came from the back half of the car

You will have to get it on a rack to be sure, but prob no real damage. I dont know how long u have had the car but u have 2 posts so maybe not long. Damaging something mechanical is pretty hard, but clipping something structural like ur M Brace or exhaust components can happen. Beware of driveways,Speed Bumps,Potholes and Armadillos.

He's in the UK I don't think Armadillos are a problem for him over there like it is for us.

Pesky buggers from Texas who live all along the Southern region of the US (and I'm sure Mexico) and since they are nocturnal we run over them a lot with our vehicles! (Z bumper would lose)

"Armadillos are small placental mammals, known for having a bony armor shell. The Dasypodidae are the only surviving family in the order Cingulata. Until as recently as 1995, the family was placed in the order Xenarthra, along with the anteaters and sloths..." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Armadillo

+1. get it up on the rack. It's pretty hard to damage any vital components under the Z. The engineers designed plenty of protection underneath. I once went straight over a curb the was about 7 inches high and 2 foot wide. I drove completely over it. Only thing I did was bent a few rims. The under carriage had a few scrapes, but for the most part everything was in place. BTW, don't ask why I ran over a curb that big.

My front spoiler WAS 3 inches off the ground -- I got used to it , But there was places I just couldnt go. Im still as low overal but got rid of the Kaminari up front. Occasionally I still scrape, but they are "controlled" scrapes--I know its going to happen but I go SLOOOOOOOO.
