Default New 07 with checklight problems

I am very pissed right now. I have only had my new 07 Enthusiast for 3 weeks and the engine checklight has come on twice. The first time was the day after i drove it off the lot. They checked it out and said it was just a loose gas cap. This time they said it was the same code(evap). So now i have to wait till Tuesday so their technican can call their support line for help. This is probably the last time i will ever buy a Nissan.

Don't stress out when there is probably nothing to worry about. You're only just over the break in period. All in all they are a good car.

Ya, your car is still very much under warranty. If everything is running good, Im not too sure why you would be so upset. Im sure they will take care of it for you!

This is to be expected with a first run setup.

Default Thanks for all the replies

I guess i am pisssed because it is a BRAND NEW car. When i buy a new car i would hope not to return to the dealer the day after i drive it off the lot. Am i expecting too much?? I don't think so.

Bacalhaul16 I know its under warranty but i still have to take time out of my day to return to the dealer. Plus i have to have someone pick me after i drop it off and then I need someone take me there to pick it up. All this inconvenience shoudn't be happening with a brand new car. This is time i should be driving and enjoying the Z.

Nexx Not quite the same situation

Jdifolco Thanks for your helpful tip

Thanks to the other posts that showed some compassion. There are always a few idiots that have to put in there worthless 2 cents. People like that give this forum a bad name.

Honestly, I would assume that the dealership would hook you up with a loaner car, if its going in to be repaired under warranty. I would be a little upset about having to get a ride and all to the dealership too I guess. I figured since you obviously bought it new from there, they would help you out!

solrchrgd: Don't stress about it too much. Not all Zs go back in for service right away so it's not a bad car. You just had a little bad luck, but at least it came up now. Just enjoy the good things, this is just a little glitch. Hell, my car had to go back within 2 minutes of me pulling off the lot because the dealership didn't to their presale inspection and left on of my tire pressure sensors unregistered. I was pissed... lights were flashing at me and the ink wasn't even dry yet. But, they got it fixed and I haven't had another problem since.

Oh, and don't expect all dealerships to offer loaners. That's a courtesy extended by the individual DEALERSHIP, not by Nissan. It costs money to put insurance, registration, not to mention miles on a dealer owned Nissan.

Sorry about the CEL. Yes it does suck because you have to take time out of your day for the matter to be addressed. It happens though, nothing is perfect.

If it makes you feel any better, when I bought my evo MR, I got a CEL in the first 20 miles. Turns out it was a busted EGR...

Default Problem fixed

I guess a few of you don't expect much from a brand new car. I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing? I guess i expect alot from something i just spent $30 G's on.

So far so good. The Dealership replaced the Evap canister vent control valve. I have no idea what that is?? The tech told me it was somewhere near the rear of the car. He pointed below the gas cap area.

I hope this doesn't happen to anyone else who buys a new 07 Z.
