Default how to adjust clutch pedal?

I'd like to change the distance I need to push the clutch down and release to have the clutch disengage/engage. Anyone have a procedure on how to do this? I've got to push the pedal almost to the floor before I can shift or gears grind.

It is hydraulic so I don’t know what you can do with it. I do know that once you disconnect and bleed it it feels different but I don’t know how that will accomplish what you want. I do know my clutch engages about half way. It was at the bottom at first. After a month or so it went to middle and has been there ever since.

As was mentioned, the clutch cannot be adjusted. It engages a bit too close to the floor for my taste, as well, but apparently nothing can be done about it.

(My wife's new Civic is even worse. The clutch has to be depressed so far that it sometimes is difficult to start the car.)

The service manual details the procedure for adjusting the clutch pedal. Mainly it just gives the stock specs for freeplay, clutch engagement height, and interlock switch position, and tells you how to adjust the pedal into spec. But there might be some leeway built in that allows you to set the engagement point somewhere closer to your liking.

PM me and I'll try to explain the procedure.

Vandy,

I had the same experience; close to the floor at first, and now about halfway. I'm usually very kind to my transmissions and haven't had to ever get a new clutch, so I was kind of worried I had done something wrong to get that big a difference in a few months. Glad to hear its normal.
