Has anyone tried shaking the drivers side axle (wheel to rear end) and it is loose? When you pull towards the wheel it makes a clunking sound like the axle is hitting the hub?

Dosen''t sound normal to me. And I also hear a clunk (like something is loose) in the rear when I pull out from 1st gear and sometimes 2nd.
