Tire Feathering **** If you have it please POST HERE****
It is time we organize!!!!

Please post your:
VIN #
Location and
Dealer Info
Date dealer notified
ONLY

DO NOT use this thread to post gripes and other matters. (Use the other 76 threads to do that.) We can use this thread as a list of all of the people with this problem. If we want their attention we need to be organized!

Not sure if your tires are feathering or not...
check the other threads or ask someone to help.
It is your responsibility to check your own tires. If you find out too late your dealer might not want to correct the problem.

Please tell your friends to post here also. We need as many people with this problem as possible.

Clayton, there is a huge thread already running on the tire feathering. I would suggest you join them and not reinvent the wheel. We are drowning in too many threads now which relate to the problem, please help us consolidate as many as we can. Thanks

Boomer I suggest you re-read my post. I am trying to get one thread started that ONLY has posts of the people that ACTUALLY have feathering problems. It will be much easier to have NNA or Nissan Tech and the Dealers read ONE thread rather than have to sort through 76 threads searching for the number of people that ACTUALLY have the problem.
The other threads deal with people giving explanations on why this might happen and suggestions on how to correct it. That is not the purpose of this thread. This one is to give those that might want numbers on how many Z's are affected so they can deal with it appropriately.

I had my dealer run a Forum Search on this site for Tire Feathering and it returned 76 threads. We can't expect them to read 76 threads. This one is supposed to be concise and to the point. Easy for everyone to get an accurate count of those that actually have the problem and not those that say that they had the problem on a CRX in 1996. Get the point? Show me a thread that exists like this and I will ask that this one be removed from the Forum.

PLEASE people refrain from posting anything on this thread OTHER THEN THE INFORMATION ASKED FOR!!! People walk all over everyone’s threads (I’ve been guilty also) and the thread turns to crap.

Once again...
PLEASE people refrain from posting anything on this thread OTHER THEN THE INFORMATION ASKED FOR!!!

in all due respect, now we have 77 threads on the subject.

the post below yours is a formal list that has been started a few months ago, if you want on, add your name to the list.

btw, the action that could take place is MORE than just a list to send to Nissan. Lets hope it works.

For my info, look at the list already provided, I am getting tired of looking up my info every time.

didn't mean to come off so offensive, I am just trying to follow ALL of the threads related to this issue and when another one pops up, i makes it counter productive (exactly what you were trying to avoid), yet looking back on it, maybe it would be better to post this as a VIN, Build date, etc.....THREAD ONLY (meaning a moderator would have to delete all the other posts (like this on) on this thread)

Peace

Kitkos, with all due respect, if you can get all the people to repost, you are a better leader than I. But, you are adding another thread on the same topic and many may look at it, decide they have already posted and ignore you. Also, there were other approaches already in process before you posted your thread. They will not be abandoned for your attempted consolidation.

No offense, no foul, just the bare facts, you may be too late. I can't think of anyone who will have the time or inclination to consolidate 77 threads or trim their posts to your requirements. You came on site in January, some of us have been here since April, 2002 and the numbers on this site have exploded and duplicate info keeps appearing and re-appearing because the Moderators can't watch everything or consolidate everything, they are volunteers and have other lives. I will give my info if you want it.

EXACTLY MY POINT! Did you finally get it? It only took 3 tries!
No one has the time to remove all of the extra crap in the other threads.
We need ONE thread that is to the POINT and not a bunch of other garbage. A place where we can send our Dealers , Nissan Tech and NNA when we need the cold hard facts on who is affected.

I bought my first of four Z's in the fall of 1976 and have driven one every single day since. Don't pretend to be more informed or a better organizer just because your handle reads "Charter Member".

Boomer and RodH, No offense taken! Hope you don't take any from me either.

One last thought and hopefully we can get this thread back to what it is intended... I am on a mission and NNA seems to be listening to me. I am not saying that I will stop this problem. It will still take EVERY single person that has this problem to get theirs fixed. But at least no one will have to try to do it on their own.

I agree with Boomer, however I would be happy to add ALL to our petition, rather than just creating, yet another thread.

PLEASE email me your VIN#s & your NNA Case#s!!!

The petition will be in both English & Japanese.

Here is your chance for your voice to be heard rather then just adding another thread to this web site.

To Nissan Motor Co., Ltd.:

We implore the leaders of Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. to stand behind and deliver on Carlos Ghosn’s promise, "The New Z will deliver the performance and high design qualities of today's cutting-edge sports cars at a truly attainable price. Our goal is to build a memorable, no-compromise sports car..." by fixing the tire feathering/cupping issue on the 2003 350Z. (TSB Ref: NTB03006)

We demand that the Nissan Motor Co. make a commitment to quality and ensure the “Z” heritage not be diminished by allowing a sub-standard product to be on the market.

All of us have put our faith in the Nissan Brand by purchasing our 350Z sight-unseen. Many of us pre-ordered and put deposits down for our cars, 8 to 12 months, in advance because we believed in words of Shiro Nakamura’s, Senior VP Design NML, “First, the design offers strong visual and driving appeal, but the Z can also be appreciated for the more practical side that comes with everyday ownership – durability, utility, comfort, reliability and low maintenance.”

We plead for a timely and thorough investigation of this issue. Please do NOT allow shame to be shed on
Kazutoshi Mizuno, 350Z Chief Vehicle Engineer, by turning a deaf ear on a serious problem with the 350Z.

We call for a complete and permanent solution and most of all, justice. Please do not let us down. We believe
as Carlos Ghosn does, "that the Z is the heart & soul of Nissan". We would hate to find out that the "350Z DNA" is made up of inferior genes.

Default Re: Take Action Now!!!!

guys, if you (anyone) have the problem, PLEASE email or give your info to IAN, he has written this letter and revised it numerous times, and have kept ALL of us informed (through private e-mail) on what he is doing and asking everyone for advice, etc..this is a very professional and effective way to deal with the issue, the MORE complaints the more serious Nissan will look at the claims.

If you (Kitkos) know of a more effective way to get this problem solved, GREAT, work with IAN, WE need ALL the help we can get!!

we need to act as a team to get this worked out!

I think the letter could use a bit less passion. You're trying to convince them to fix a problem, not ask them out on a date. And expecting a company to live up the statements of it's marketing department is silly.

With that said, I do wish they would fix the root cause. I'm also sure that they are working on it already, simply because the warranty claims for new tires are going to add up rather fast.

Bought and serviced at Hummel's Nissan in Des Moines, Iowa (they've been super to deal with, highly recommended).
Tires swapped left to right at 3500 miles
Now I'm at 7200 and the problem has come back. Nissan is replacing all four tires, and is sending an engineer from California out to look at my car in the next couple weeks. I'm not sure I'll be able to speak with him personally, but I'm going to try.

Did you understand when I said other efforts will go forward with or without you? You needed to READ some of the content in those threads, instead of throwing up your hands and creating one more! Now, lets have a contest between you and Ian, who has been working on this problem for much longer than you and 3 strikes and you are out w/me, slick. You've got 1 left before you are a non-entity to me.

I gave the information on “THE” thread to my dealer AND to NNA and neither one could find Ian’s petition. Had we found it I would NEVER had tried to organize one. It begins, after all, on page 8 of 17 page thread.
Ian, to you all of the people that have had to endure this mindless babble I do apologize. I was only trying to help. Please, everyone send your information to Ian and get on his petition.

As I mentioned in an earlier post on this thread I will cease to post here since there is a thread already going that covers this subject. I will also ask the Moderators that this post be removed since it is confusing. Ian, I will PM my case number to you as you asked. Thanks

To you Boomer I say….
I'll certainly loose sleep knowing I only have one chance left with you.. How could I have ever dissed you, of all people?

BTW, Ask someone to show you how to quote posts properly. You should only quote the part of the previous post that you want to comment on, not the entire post as you insist on doing. If you would there wouldn’t be 17 pages of Tire Feathering on the “other” thread and people might want to read it.

Here is an example… The only significant thing that was said in your last post today on the “other” thread was this

See even you admit that you are seldom right.

When did you say you bought your first Z? “New-comer”!
Just to make it easy for you, here is strike three… I refuse to continue this “battle of the wits” with an unarmed person…
