Default !!!Urget Help NEEDED!

hi everyone i disconnected my battery last nite hoping to reset my ecu. i woke up and went and pluged it back in and started the car and everything was working cept everything had been reset. As i approach my driveway i turned off my engine but i decided to repark my car so i turn on the engine and it turned on but all of a sudden it dies. the rpm meter just falls to 0. i tried several times to turn on but same results so i decided to slightly tap my foot on the gas pedal before ignition and start it up and i get this loud VROOOOMMMM!! and the car was on and ready to run so i turned it off again hoping that solved it but no luck the engine jus dies after it starts ...pplllzz help i really need the car soon class startting sooonnn...!!!

Did you check the battery cable to make sure it's tight?

Could try jumping it. Maybe it is a battery issue.

did the car stumble before it died? since the ecu has been reset, try the throttle repositioning thingymajig. might help with the idle so the car doesn't stumble and die.

Perhaps try throttle position re-learning procedure

In case you haven't noticed, idle RPM drops a bit when the engine is warm compared to when you first turn it on. did you try my suggestion or did you just assume it wouldn't work?

It actually worked!!! i disconected my battery for a couple of hours to change the Cam sensor, then afterwards, was having the stall issue. I tried the resetting method and it worked.

I'm having similar problems after replacing the battery on my '03. It starts up from cold then if I stop and start it again it will start up then shut off. Takes another time or two to actually have it go into idle and stay on, but each time it struggles.

I never got the CEL after replacing the battery. Should I reset the ECU and try the re-learning procedure anyway?

Sorry for my super low post count and asking silly questions. I registered awhile ago but have never had a single problem with my Z (bought it used with like 20k miles) till now. Been very happy with it.

If your car is stalling out when warm,

do the intake air learning procedure and/or throttle position learning procedure (not sure which one is the most important) which is linked in this thread...you should be good to go...

others have suggested cleaning the throttle body using carburetor cleaner

I guess I don't fully understand the Idle Air Volume Learning procedure from technosquare. Step 8 says to fully depress the accelerator pedal for 20 sec. Won't that hurt the engine? I started to do that but it took it to redline right away.

And does this have to be done with the ECU reset?
