I have a 2005 350Z that is 2 years 1 month old. It has ~14K on it. Over the winter it hardly ever got driven (the occasional nice weekend), and as a result I had to charge the battery up before I wanted to use it. However, it seemed to die unusually fast (after being all charged up and driven, it would fail to start again after sitting for ~2 weeks). How long should the thing last sitting there?
Today I went outside and it was totally dead.. no dash lights at all (usually even when it seems totally dead the battery light on the dash still works). I plugged the charger in as usual and it comes on for a few seconds then just says "CHECK" (its digital). I can't get it to charge at all, no matter what I try.
So, any ideas? Also, will my warranty replace my battery? I live about 2 minutes from a dealership, any chance they'd bring it out? hah.
By the way, no, I leave no lights/accessories/anything at all on. I usually unplug the hardwired V1 and remove the stereo's faceplace just to be safe as well.
Thanks for any info.

Your warranty manual that came with the car should have it all explained:
The coverage period is 36 months or 36,000 miles, whichever
comes first. A defective original equipment battery
which is unserviceable within the first 12 months and
36,000 miles will be replaced free of charge. After 12
months but within 24 months and 36,000 miles, you will
pay 50% of the replacement battery’s suggested retail
price plus any applicable taxes. After 24 months but within
36 months and 36,000 miles, you will pay 75% of the
replacement battery’s suggested retail price plus any applicable
taxes. Nissan will pay the rest, including all labor to
remove and replace the defective battery.
It's the typical battery warranty. Considering the dealer's price, you'd do better to go to the local Autozone and get one of their Duralast models. It's the highest rated battery in the last Consumer Reports tests and I'm sure will be significantly less $$ than the dealer's replacement charge.
