Default Tranny clunks when i put it in first gear

Lately i have been hearing a fairly loud clunk noise when i put the Z into first at a stop. It is loud enough to be heard over a quiet radio level. Has any one else experienced this?

You're right, if you don't feather the clutch enough, you can cause clunking. This isn't what we're talking about though. We're saying after 1st gear is engauged, right as we're disengauging it to stop at a stop sign, it clunks. So the clutch goes in, and the tranny clunks with the cluth all the way in. As far as I know, it's not normally for a tranny to clunk just because you depres the clutch...

Yeah, happens to me once in a while, but it's not frequent. My old MR-2 used to do that when cold.

I have the same problem too!
Please update us on what the dealer is responding to it, it is very annoying.

Well, the dealer said they could not reproduce the problem. BUt I drove 30 miles to get there, and my engine was bery warm. By the time they were done looking at my car, the engine was still warm. I urge you guys to bring it in and have it checked out. If the dealers find anything, post it here, so we can notify our local dealers.

I'll bring it in for my first oil change in the next 2 weeks, my dealer is within 5 km of my neighbourhood, I'll post any results here.
