I have a 6 speed 03 Z. I went to turn it on just now and I hear for lack of a better description a whizzzing noise. It just wont turn over.
anyone ever experience this? if so what was the resolution?
any help would be greatly appreciated and yes I searched.

what happens when you turn the key? do you get anything? clicking?

 

after I depress the clutch and turn the key over I hear a whizzing sound. no real clicking.

 

could be the fuel pump is there gas in there?

 

there is gas inside for sure. man im starting to get real worried.
I had been hearing some slippage (having to give it gas when I started it) when starting the car a while ago but it was once in a blue.

Could be the starter. The starter broke on one of my previous cars and created a whizzing sound when I tried to start it. If the teeth on the gear are stripped then the start will spin at a high speed since it has no resistance.

 

ouch anyone one have an idea as to how much this is going to cost me if it is the starter? I recently moved down to south florida and actually sell cars at a chevy /mazda dealership (hey Nissan wasn't hiring) and can maybe get a break on labor if the techs there do it

1+, had similar problem with another car and it was a bad fuel pump.

 

If it is a distinct sound, then ur starter is not engaging due to a bendix or solinoid issue. Remove it and have it chked out at a Alt/Starter rebuild shop and have them rebuild it
