Default p0171 code on a stock 06

This morning my car threw a p0171 code, it said the system is too lean. I searched and someone said it could be their test pipes. I'm all stock, except an intake I put on 4000 miles ago. anyone have any insight on this? Any help is appreciated. Thanks

a. Air leak in the intake after the MAF sensor.
b. Faulty MAF sensor
c. Faulty oxygen sensor.

On my 4-Runner, the P0171 code was a "bank one lean condition". I drove around until I found out what it was (thanks to forums like this). It was a dirty MAF.

Is your intake the kind you oil? If it had too much oil, that could have gotten on your MAF.

Good luck.

just make sure the oil is completely dry before re-installing the air filter.....
new MAF sensor is so expensive.

There are DIY instructions for cleaning the MAF sensor. I must stress that the damn thing is very delicate.
