Default How Do I Remove Rear Foam Sections?

I've got two rear noise issues: one is a definite rattle, the other a ticking sound. I've done all the suggestions to get rid of the rattles that others have tried with no success. I removed all the spare tire equipment and drove the car...still had the rattles. I'd like to take the two foam pieces out of the car to see if there is anything behind them that could be causing the problem, but I don't want to ruin anything. Do those foam pieces come out easy or is it a pain to get them out? I tried to get them out a little, but got nervous when I started forcing things. Has anyone gotten them out? How did you do it?

Oops, one more thing. The plastic housing surrounding the big brace that goes across the back, how does that come off?

Or, should I say screw it and take it to the dealer and have them deal with it?

Or, do you know what is causing the rattle?

Whew! Thanks for any help! I greatly appreciate it!
