The wheel size differential is the cause of the VDC issue.

Well my fronts are 245. But still, the rears are not the proper size and will still set the VDC off. He needs to put the 225 front, but also have the same diameter size tire in the rear but you can have a wider tire. www.miata.net has a good tire calculator.

The tires I just bought are 245/45/18 toyo T1Rs will these work ok for the rears, if I bought the eagle F1s back on the front? I don't have java right now, so I can't use the tire calculator

This is why:

Specification Sidewall Radius Diameter Circumference Revs/Mile Difference
235/50-18 4.6in 13.6in 27.3in 85.6in 740 0.0%
225/45-18 4.0in 13.0in 26.0in 81.6in 777 -4.7%

Between the front and rear you have a 4.7% difference. You can not have more than a 2% MAX different. If you put your 235 up front, you can do 275/40-18 in the rear or 275/45-18 rear and you will be less off and it should work.

Specification Sidewall Radius Diameter Circumference Revs/Mile Difference
235/50-18 4.6in 13.6in 27.3in 85.6in 740 0.0%
275/40-18 4.3in 13.3in 26.7in 83.8in 756 -2.2%

Specification Sidewall Radius Diameter Circumference Revs/Mile Difference
235/50-18 4.6in 13.6in 27.3in 85.6in 740 0.0%
275/45-18 4.9in 13.9in 27.7in 87.2in 727 1.8%

The 245 you bought might work. Here is the difference between your 235...

Specification Sidewall Radius Diameter Circumference Revs/Mile Difference
235/50-18 4.6in 13.6in 27.3in 85.6in 740 0.0%
245/45-18 4.3in 13.3in 26.7in 83.8in 756 -2.1%

They have a html calculator at the bottom, no need for Java.

Thanks ALOT Solor-350z, your help is greatly appreciated.

Hope my new tires work, or I'm gonna be pissed.

The html calculator isn't working on this POS computer.

I had it on my track rims years ago and they bubbled too much on the side. Here is a minimum-max requirement for a 275..

http://edgeracing.com/tire/3818/

It says 9-11 inch rims required. The 8.5 rear on the track rims would "work" but its not recommended...

The touring rims are 8 inches wide so NO on those, and the enthusiest/base wheels No on those too. Not sure the sizes on the new 07 rims...If they are 9 inches on the rear then you would be good to go.

So the 06-07 rims must be a 9 inch wide rim then? Those look good! As I said I wasnt sure about those rims only about the 03-04 rims.

06 and 07 regular oem rears are only 8.5" wide...depends on the brand of 275/40/18 tires though. All tires are not sized the same. Some tires come wider even though they are the same size and vise versa. i always measure the width of the tire/rim before mounting to make sure they fit. In this case , the fitment is perfect IMO.
Friend of mine replaced his tires with Michelins but he had to go one size up in order to match the oem(either BFgoodrich/Dunlop) dimension cuz Michelin come smaller for some reason in that particular size.

well, took it to the dealership and they switched the tires from front to back and there is no problem with the slip light, anymore. The tires sound like they are rubbing or just vibrating BAD though. idk, I'm just gonna park it till I get my new tires.

I personally like the stretched look better..I run a 275 on a 10.5..

Good to hear it worked out for you though, Years ago when I ran a Toyo T1S 275-40-18 looked ridiculous with the bulge on Track rims 8.5 rim...

Besides the tires being an issue did you brake the VDC cable when replacing your tires?

Front tires: Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 235/50ZR18

Rear tires: Stock Potenzas (225/45R18) I think

All on stock touring rims.
225's for the rear, common brother, you can do better than that, at least 255's.

Help! My car won't accelerate!=============

I had a similar issue with slow acceleration when I tried some ebay aftermarket lights.
Replaced with OEM LED lights and all was well.

It was so I could actually use my car, not a permanent solution by any means.

Damn Toyos!! LOL

I notice some sidewalls are a little taller on certain tires as well. THe biggest reason I like Toyos is because they are substantially lighter then other tires. Plus the tread pattern is purty!!
