Car died on the way to my sister's wedding...
Yesterday on my way to my sisters wedding, my car completely lost power... almost like I had pressed the clutch in... but the RPM's didn't go down quite as fast as they would if you depress the clutch. This happened as I was shifting into 2nd or 3rd... can't remember. I do remember I gave it a good amount of gas, and as I did so, it just died. Instead of idling @ around 1k as I expected, it stalled and I had to steer it off the road before I was rear-ended. I gave it a few minutes, turned off the AC (which was oddly still running after it stalled, as it usually cuts out to avoid a stall).
My gut tells me it's a fuel pump, but I'm not sure. I've had the intake manifold replace before (5 months ago) with another OEM manifold because the car went into limp mode at a stop light, but the car only has 1 after-market part... the drop in performance air filter.
After stopping, I let the car sit, and started it... it started OK... no issues. Rev'd it to 3-4k... no issues... sat a few seconds. Pulled out, shifted into 2nd, pushed it to 3.5k and BAM it cuts out like someone pulled the gas line out. I almost ate the steering wheel, but no lights turn on until it is about to stall @ 1k RPM.
I had it towed to my local shop guy, who JUST LAST WEEK replaced my passenger window motor, and he's going to work on it on Tuesday.
Suggestions?! I'm hoping it's the fuel pump ($150 for part + labor is my guess, this guy is dirt cheap labor).
