Default Help removing 07 Homelink rearview mirror

Hey guys, I know it's a noob question but believe it or not I searched and didn't find an answer , probably cos it's common sense, hence the noobness.
I just got a homelink mirror with compass to replace my regular non-compass homelink mirror on my 07.
Now the instructions say to remove the oem mirror I am supposed to "insert a screwdriver in the middle bottom of the mount, until pressure is felt, then press a bit harder while at the same time pull the mirror up..."
Now I see that the mirror mount is different in the Compass vs the OEM Homelink mirror. I tried with the screwdriver but felt no "resistance" they talk about..it pretty much goes in till it hits the inside metal of the base.
There's what looks like a hex screw in the base though. Is the 07 mirror different than the rest? Could I just loosen the hex screw and slide it out?
I don't have a hex key with me right now so haven't tried anything yet....but would this mean that the 07 is different and hence my Homelink compass mirror will not fit? Like i said the bases look different in both mirrors....although the Nissan site says the mirror is for 2003-07...so who knows..
Thanks for any help!

Nevermind guys...I dont know what the hell I was thinking. Obviously the instructions for removal are for a base OEM rearview mirror not a homelink, that's why I cannot find the spring in the middle of the mount with the screw driver.
I guess then for the Homelink it's just a matter of loosening the screw and sliding it out (I hope at least).
I'll try it when i get home tonight...
