Default clickinh noise when i drive

Hey guys I was wondering if you guys get a noise when you drive your car. Everytime it Rolls goes front or back i hear a series of "clicks' three clicks to be precise and the seem to come from the rear of the car.

any clue what it could be?

its an 05 Z R

When I first start the car in the morning and I put it into reverse, the rear makes a big click/clunk noise when i initially start going back.

Mine was doing the same thing. At low speeds I could hear it clicking while in gear and giving it gas and then letting off the gas. I could hear it perfectly with the windows down in my parking area... I asked my dealer and they told me to bring it in. I never got the chance to do that... please post here if you find out what it was, it always bothered me... mine was also 05 Z, and had less then 6k on it.

I think there is a TSB for it... I took my car in and they fixed whatever it was. I have an '05 with about 40k on it and they fixed it under the powertrain warranty. It has something to do with the axles. I believe that they pulled them out and greased the ends? Sorry, not very technical on this end of the car. Hope this helps.

Please search “clicking” as in “clicking rear axle” and the associated service bulletin.

Simple fix under warranty. They just tighten the axle bolts or drivetrain bolt.

Do you have aftermarket wheels? If so, and you have the stock ones, put them on. They try anything to not cover it, even though it is a TSB. I had to do this on our 04' ZR and my G35. Have the gas filler recall/TSB done while you're there. I believe it was for 05s as well.

The "rear clicking axle" TSB srikes again. There have to be at least 5,000 posts on this site asking the same question.

Ok I have the same problem and the rear axle clicking noise is covered under the 6 yr/50k Powertrain Warranty.

The dealer said they fixed mine, but it still clicks from a start. I've taken my car to Buttonwillow and numerous auto-x's and there have not been any problems, so screw it. I'll just live with it. It doesn't bother me anyway.

Hey guys,

Sorry to bring up an old thread but people always say to do a SEARCH even though the topic has been old for over a month.

So, I also have an 05 ZR with about 12860 miles, and I just noticed a clicking noise today.

I bought it used so I have only aftermarket rims, with no stock wheels, and I have warranty until 09'. What are the chances that I can get it fixed under warranty?

Thanks

Mine was doing that last summer, the dealership replaced the rear carrier bearings or something of that nature, fixed it right up.
