I have an 03. . I had the clicking noise on the left rear. My Connect at the Dealer faxed me over the tsb/fix for it .what it was for me. .was the axle splines, where it fits into the rear diff either get or become a tad warned and move back n forth creating that click in a slow movement of the car. The fix is to slightly remove, and push back the axle and grease it up, and rotate it from it's original position 180 degrees and re install it. .was easy.I did it myself (work at a shop). .and molly lubed it up. .I did both sides for the hell of it just in case. .and it's been 20 K so far no clicks. .

If you have the means/tools don't bother taking it to the dealer if you know what your doing. .you can do it yourself if your mechanically inclined. .
IF NEONE NEEDS THE TSB, AND THE DEALER DOES NOT GIVE THEM THE FIX. .LET ME KNOW AND I CAN FAX IT OVER!!!!

truthfully whats it matter.. if someone re asks the question to a problem?. .I understand that they can take the time to look it up , but some of us do not have the luxury of doing nothing in life to sit on the net to explore/search for the problem. .so is it that hard to answer a simple question to someone who asks. .i figure if i help, or try to help a fellow Z owner that one day someone will do the same for me. .

my 05 doesnt have an audible clicking sound so i am not sure it makes sence taking it to the dealer. I can only feel it through the car (sometimes). But something is definitely clicking. I and (joy) have that type of connection. saughta like when she is telling me, traction is about to be 0%. I first thought it had something to do with the flooding that happened here, i only noticed it after that happened.

Well,

I first thought that it was the left rear wheel clunking...but it was my driver side door. I found out because I kept on drive up and down my driveway with the door closed. I kept on hearing the clunking noise.

Then I drove up and down my drive way with the door open. The clunk was gone.

And when I drove up and down again with the door closed BUT my hand on the outside of the door, I could feel it hitting something.

It is only when I reverse the car with the back going towards the right (as in, when I'm ready to drive, I go leftward.)

Any ideas? I WD-40'd it..but there is still a clunking noise.

Thanks.

This is a "open" forum.
Props to you for offering to fax the TSB.

Maybe this should be a "sticky"
