Quick question. Whenever the car is cold and I'm heading out of my street in the mornings, it's a real pig to get into 2nd gear sometimes.

As the tranny warms up it starts to behave but the gearbox has never been as smooth or fast shifting as I would expect from a 'sports car' even when operating at regular temp - my s2000 box shifted a lot quicker and smoother than the Z.

 

yeah, coming out of first when it's cold can be a little knotchy. just make sure your clutch is in all the way, and of course dont force it. Mine has been doing that since i bought it in '04, chalked it up to the nature of the beast, no long term problems.
