Not exactly. Some dents when popped back out will cause the metal to stretch. This is often more of a problem on smaller dents, because they put it in more of a "bind".

not the metal stretching but more of the paint. Taking care of a ding/dent right away is better than down the road. I use to work at a body shop.

Huh? Are you saying the paint can stretch after letting a dent set? Agreed. But are you saying a dent when popped won't stretch the metal? If so I know many instances that would show otherwise. And me too.

Regardless, get us some better pics. All I can see is a reflection. It looks like there might be a small dent just under the base of the garage door. From what I can tell if that's it, it looks to maybe have stretched the metal initially.

There is a point where paint will stay it's shape after a dent/ding. The paint additive is keeping the paint in one piece when a dent/ding occurs. If you notice, if you have something freshly painted less than 6 months, a bad ding to the paint will crack the paint because it creases too much.

Yeah, that what I said I agreed with. I thought earlier you were saying that the metal couldn't stretch after being popped out.
