Default o2 sensors

Does anyone know if o2 sensors for the '07 (HR engine) will work for '06 (rev up engine)? Thanks in advanced.

I don't think they will. The HR is about 70% all new plus the part numbers are different. Also the front 02's on the HR are air-fuel ratio sensors.I cant remember if the older ones are all straight up o2 sensors or air-fuel ratios.

First off O2 sensors are the same thing as air-fuel ratio sensors. What do you mean by a "straight up O2 sensor" or "air-fuel ratio(s)" sensor, there is no difference? Secondly, the rear(downstream) O2 sensors on all cars with OBD-II, monitor the operation of the catalytic converters. This includes the downstream O2 sensors on the VQ35de and revup engines. The front(upstream) O2 sensors monitor the combustion process and help the ECU determine the correct air-fuel ratio. That is why there is no difference between an air fuel ratio sensor and an O2 sensor, different names for the same job.

I think he may have been referring to a WBO2 vs. regular, typical O2 sensor which basically reads lean/rich. I believe newer MYs got a wideband O2 in the front vs. narrow band on the previous MYs. I don't recall which year Nissan started using wideband O2 sensors in the front.

The rears are always your basic narrow band sensors. No point in having anything else in there.

So in layman's terms, an 02 sensor from an 07 (on the cat) would work on an 06?

Yes, it should. The only obstacle that you may face is if the plug on the sensor has changed although chances are it's the same.
