Default Smoke

White smoke water
blue smoke oil
black smoke fuel

Just from the little bit you described sounds like a head gasket

Sounds like normal exhaust smoke. Especially if it's colder outside it will happen. If it's burning coolant the smoke will linger and have a very distinctive smell.

Coolant smells really sweet, like candy. leaky gasket possibly, if it was blown you would know it. The smoke doesn't stop a little white smoke on hard acceleration is normal. Puffing it out when you start it up is another story.

2 quarts low, if it is colder where you live i would suggest maybe running 20w50. It will cut down on how much your engine burns. (of course full synthetic)
