Car cover & Battery Tender?
is this a bad combo? I've searched up and down here on the forum.
I just covered my z so it wouldn't collect dust, but it also has a battery maintainer hooked up.
The Battery maintainer says it needs to be well ventilated.
I have it hooked up, the hood closed (not latched) with the cover over it. So people who store your z's. is this ok? or does it make a safety hazard?
Thanks.

Are you planning to store your Z without driving it for an extended period? I'm not sure a battery tender is necessary. If you just hook it up for 12 hours before you plan on cranking the Z next, why not leave the Z covered, with the hood cracked, and the battery tender routed underneath the car?
i do, but the battery i guess has to be well vented, so i wanted to see if anyone knew if it was ok to have a battery tender hooked up, hood closed with a car cover on.
I cover my car and have a battery tender attached. The hood is ajar and the cover tents up where the tender wire enters at the hood break.
There is open air under the car and I have had no issues over 4+ seasons now.
They don't throw enough juice in there to create vapors around the battery.
I am sure the warning is issued to cover the tender manufacturer's a$$.

The higher the ambient temp, the more fumes will be released from the battery by trickling. Point is...if its mainly in the 30s-40s then the fumes will be almost non existent.
The biggest prob with Battery Fumes in an enclosed enviourment is the corrosion created by them. In the case of the Z....Terminals, Fuse box, Battery hold down.
Personally, Id just take the Battery out and set it on some wooden boards if I was trickle charging it. Keep in mind that those fumes will also eat your car cover
