I started getting the infamous 3rd gear grind at about 2000 miles. It was only on cold starts upshift from 2nd to 3rd. I am getting the problem on and off. Since summer's started I have been getting the problem a lot less but I am really starting to get irritated by the problem because I cringe in disgust everytime I hear that horrible grinding noise.

I would have already taken the car to the dealer but I don't know if I'll be able to reproduce the grinding noise when they want me to go on a drive. I also have the window streaks and a loose oil guage rim which rattles. I don't really care about the latter problems but this grinding is killing me!

With that out of the way, my questions is whether or not I should wait for the tranny to get worse so that they can replace the entire tranny or if I should go over there and try my luck with the dealer.
