Default Tachometer Froze for 5 minutes

I was driving on the highway at 90mph and just cruisin there, then i realized my RPM needle stopped at 3100 RPMs moving but all others worked. I changed my speed and then put it in nuetral and coasted and it was still frozen at 3100 RPMs. After slowing down and speeding up and reving engine, it finally kicked back in. Only happened once and hasnt again. Anyone else?

Mine seems to do that when the sun is shining directly on it. I put my hand over the gauge to block the sun and it started working again. Weird.

I've had the same issue with the tach several times and once with the speedometer. Always with the top down and sun shining directly on the dash. It's unnerving to say the least but can't find a solution online anywhere and can't replicate on demand for the dealer.
