Actually the scratches are very noticible when standing even 5 feet from the car. The insided of the lug holes are scratched too so it is not just the inside of the rim. My point is that these are Rays rims and I did pay extra for them and I want to keep them looking as nice as possible. My car should leave the shop at LEAST in as good a condition as I brought it in. Isn't that the point of taking it in for service???

My dealership can't do any of the work either. They took the wheels off and sent them to one shop to put the new tires on and then another shop to balance them. When I dropped the car off last night, I showed the service rep all the scratches from the weights and he laughed and said at least the dealership didn't cause the damage. Well, gee, that must make it okay then.

Hedonist, how far up the ranks have you taken it? I had to go to the GM of the dealership before they agreed to do anything about it. Did you take the car to the contract shop or did your dealership take it? Don't let them screw you over. Let us know.

Picked my car up today and all the scratches were not covered. They asked that I please give them another chance to have the procedure re-done. I told I would but if it was not fixed, I wanted new wheels. The mgr agreed. I'm just glad they are not ******** like the other ones decribed above, then I'd have to go ballistic.

I dropped my car off Monday.

They had the wheel refinishing expert take a look.

I don't know the whole story exactly, but
they ordered me 4 new RAYS wheels.

I can't complain about that.

Picked up my Z today after the dealer sent out my wheels the 2nd time to fix my scratches.

This time it looks like the wheel shop did the job they should've done the first time.

I can tell that they painted my wheels. It's a more metallic silver than the factory silver, but they look just like new wheels. I am very happy with the results. My dealer came through. Classic Nissan, Orlando Fl

They detailed the car as well, which was a nice touch (I hadn't washed her in a couple of weeks )

BTW, I didn't realize I missed my Z this much. It felt like I picked it up for the first time. Man I love my Z.

Well, part of the problem I had is that I don't have the number for the Warren Tires up in NY that did the work, and I didn't notice until after they had closed that Saturday. Seeing that I live in DC, there's no way that I'm going to get them to pay for the damage. I figure I'll likely polish the scratches down and get them refinished in the future, but not until I get a new set of wheels for my track tires.

I had my front tires replaced today as they were cupping / feathering. Last night when I dropped the car off I specifically told them I knew of a LOT of people who had their rims scratched and wanted to be certain they were able to do the 18" rims. I was assurred they had a NEW tire machine that would do the 18"s with no problem.

Well, I just got the call from the service manager... Good news, I have new Tires (S03 Pole Positions at that!) bad news... They were "afraid" to do my 18" rims so they sent them to Michelin who promptly Scratched them up. The service manager told me that my NEW Factory rims would be in next week.

I never had to even complain. sure I feel bad about the incident, but I must give a thank You to rothrock Nissan in Allentown, PA for the no hassle, up front, honest, customer service. (Now to see if I can get a free service out of them too for the time I spent away from the Z the extra day to have new RIMS put on...)

In my case, they used an impact wrench to put the lug nuts back on and scratched all the holes. Then, the screwdriver was used to remove the weights.

On this note, two thumbs up to Derrick Kipfer at Aluminum Wheel Repair by S. A. S. He did an kick butt job fixing my rims.

3 weeks....still waiting

...Oh yeah, when they originally looked at my wheels and decided to order new ones, they "sealed" the scratches. Not only did they scratch all the Lug nut holes, but the car has been vibrating at high speeds.

Yeah, I'm not quite sure whats going on. The service manager was like " I have a feeling they stopped making those wheels, this is what we recieved with your VIN"

Is she insane!?!?!

Something seems very fishy

We'll see what happens next.
