Default Basic Warranty/Powertrain Waranty?

I know i probably should know this, but im jsut not sure, and the descriptions of the 2 are sorta vague to me...but what is the difference between the 2 besides the length? Does the basic 3 year warranty cover any type of mechanical problem, like tranny ect. or is that what the 5 year powertrain covers? any help would be great, thanks guys.

I believe the 3 year warranty is bumper to bumper meaning anything besides wear and tear items. The 5 year warranty covers only drivetrain.

3yr is bumper to bumper coverage outside of things that wear out like brake pads, belts, tires, etc etc.

5yr powertrain covers anything that makes the car move. engine internals, transmission internals, axles etc etc.
