Default Squeaky Wiper

Driver's side wiper squeaks at about halfway through the cycle, at any speed, and it's getting worse.

At first I thought it was the blade, so I changed that, but it still squeaks. I thought maybe there was something on the windshield, but that wasn't it either.

After watching the wiper closely, it looks like the blade actually goes up into the arm right around the half-way point in the cycle, so I thought maybe it was inteference of some type. But that does not appear to be the issue, as there is no wear on the blade, the arm or the spring.

So I shut off the car mid wiper cycle, and can move the arm back and forth to replicate the squeak. It only squeaks when the arm is down, but I cannot see anything that looks like it could be causing the noise.

Any ideas? Search revealed nothing relevent for "Wiper and Squeak".

You might try cleaning your windshield with a clay bar. I suspect there is something on the glass surface.

If the paint on the arm is worn out in that spot, that'll let you know whether or not it's rubbing. If not, do as the poster above me suggested. Claybar your windshield...
