Default clutch

ive had my 04 Z for almost over a year now and very used to driving the car. My cousin from chicago came down about to weeks ago and he drives an s2000, he asked me if he could drive it and i said yeah sure, the first thing he said after engaging the clutch was wow your clutch is really high compared to my s2k, and i never realized it because its the only stick shift car ive ever driving before.

pretty what im trying to say is, is this a clutch prob. or is it okay to be happening to an 04 i had my clutch change around 40000 miles and thats how its been ever since then, it takes a good 3 or 4 in. untill the clutch starts to engage is this okay or should i take it in to a shop

It's normal. Don't worry about it.

i thought most of the earlier Z have a long hard clutch ....b/c i have a 03 track...and i drove couple of my friends' Z...one is 03 and one is 05 and one is 07....they are shorter every year..and they are softer also ....but at the end...i still like the 03 the most..b/c it gives me the feeling of really driving a sports car...b/c the 05 and 07 is way too soft....just like a integra to me....also if u notice that...all the 05 and up Z's suspension is a bit higher than 03 also .....

Yeah I think the later generation Z's clutch engagement was set high to minimize the time for shifting.

Its normal. You really don't have to push it all the way down. I kinda like it that way anyways

s2000's (and the other hondas...) have this miraculous clutch and gearbox that is super soft and buttery smooth. he's probably just adjusting to the difference.
