Pulsating Rubbing Sound When Turning Left
Today while on the parkway I noticed this sound. The faster I go, the more prominent it is. I only need to turn left slightly, and I hear this pulsating rubbing sound. It sounds similar to the tire sound if you drift over into the shoulder and drive over those grooves they put there to wake you up - but not that loud, and not constant. It pulsates on and off like vvvVVVVvvv vvvVVVVvvvv vvvVVVVvvv
I searched a whole bunch of threads and not sure anyone else described what I am experiencing.
This Sunday we changed my stock sways and endlinks at our shop to hotchkis sways and spl endlinks.

check your tires. the tires will make a similar noise when the have been worn irregularly. easiest thing to check is to take the wheel off the car and run your hand over the tire and if you feel bumps that is most likely your problem.

I am not running headers...but when it happens the vibration could be felt in the steering wheel.
I did think about the black plastic pieces as well...something I am going to try and check out this weekend.
I brought it to a shop yesterday, and they couldn't figure out what it was. The mechanic said that he checked to make sure everything was tight...

I took it to Nissan some time back, and they wouldn't do my alignment due to the aftermarket suspension and such. That was before I even put the sways on...
A couple guys in my car club told me to get a corner balancing done after we did the sways. Maybe this will solve the issue.
I have the same issue, but when I turn right. If this sound does not happen when going straight, or very minor, or when turning the other direction, it is most likely the wheel bearing. After searching more for this topic I have found that numerous people have had to replace their wheel bearings. From what I have read I am going to order the parts and do this myself. The local nissan shop wanted to charge me $400 for parts and install. I think I can replace all 4 wheel bearings for that!!!!
Good ol fashioned way to check if it is wheel bearing:
1. jack wheel off ground, suspension unloaded usually easier.
2. Place one hand on the spring- (non dominant hand)
2.5 - make sure you can spin the wheel/tire w/o hitting your non dominant arm/hand
3. spin wheel with other hand. (dominant.) - may have to get it spinning pretty fast.
If you feel vibration its a wheel bearing which needs replacement.
Try both fronts, and compare. If one side you don't feel much of anything, except a minor vibration, and the other side feels like someone is tapping the spring your touching. then its bad. Its kinda hard to describe the feeling it will provide, but once you've felt it, you'll know it.
You can touch any part of the suspension but I've found the spring seems to resonate the vibration more than other parts, and its generally easy to touch.
I'd suggest doing this before throwing parts at your car.
On another note: rubbing feeling when turning automatically points to Tire rubbing, so look into that as well....esp with heavily modded suspensions.

Dumb question, but, did you try removing the wheel and putting it back on - then re-torquing the lugs? Just try it - I had a similar issue and the wheel looked fine, but apparently was not completely flush.
i have the same issue when turning left sound like it is rubbing

Here's a quick way to look for the problem. jack car up...I used to do this with air jacks, so @ home its a little harder. but not impossible. jack front of car off ground (suspension must be compressed)...keep jacks far enough back where you can turn the wheel all the way to lock. then do that...look for the tire touching anything...if it makes it easier for you spin the tire, listen for sounds, and track them down.
If wheel/tire is rubbing, this should show you where.
If you jack the car up with suspension uncompressed (hanging) you can do my wheel bearing test, and also check for play in the front end (ball joints, tie rods).

has anyone figured out what this problem was? I am getting the same vibrating noise when i turn the wheel just slightly to the right. I am on completely stock suspension and stock wheels btw.
i am experiencing the same thing. i just had an APS tuner ki installed. the shop said it was the header rubbing against the steering column. they said they shaved as much as they could while still being safe off the steering column brackets and used a prybar to move the 2 pieces apart. it worked for like a month but now its back.
