Default 30,000 miles service - Necessary?

I want to keep my Z in the most prestine condition mechanically.

Is 30,000 miles service from stealership worth it? It seems all they do is change all the fluids(engine, tranny, coolant and etc) change all filters, pressure check, lubricate all door hinges and locks.. and just INSPECTING everything else (meaning, not fixing them if anything with them)

and it seems quite pricey for what it is.. $484 + tax ?

Is it worth it? or would you save much more by taking it to a close shop? or just buy all parts and have someone do it?

There are no unique skills or tools required for fluid changes. If you have a trusted mechanic let him do the work.

Depends on how lucky you feel.

I skipped mine and took it in for the 60k service at 55k.

I just went to a local trusted garage to get the fluids changed, I don't need to pay someone to inspect the horn operation.

Changing your own fluid isn't too bad, go look at the DIY. I just did my tranny/diff fluid change, I haven't done the coolant nor belts yet. They look perfectly fine right now, filter cost me 12$ for a oem filter replacement I believe, and greasing your own hinges is easy.

DIY... If i remember the dealer wanted about 300+ for 30k service. Replacing belts (if needed), oil, brakes(if needed), etc. Pretty much visual inspection for the most part. I did it myself and saved and bought my self an extra mod with the money.

is there somewhere online to see what service needs to be done and when? Got my Z used so I don't have any of the manuals that it came with. Won't be taking it to the dealership, DIY and trusted shops only. Mine has 23k on it right now. Anything I should check? I just got it about a month ago. TIA.

Yes, according to the Nissan maintenance guide, it needs to be replaced every 30K miles.

Depends what maintenance schedule you're going by for drive belts. I think for 30k its only in the Premium schedule.

I just pay Nissan to do the work...I do not trust any other mechanic around where I live to work on the Z. My belts needed changing at the 30k Service.
