Default clutch problem? need advice

I have a 2004 g35 6mt with 57k miles on it. a few days ago, i noticed when i was in 4, 5, 6th gear, if i accelerated heavily the tach would go up a 1000 rpms or more, and it felt like the clutch was disengaged, little acceleration, until i backed off the gas, and then it would accelerate, but not in normal fashion. now it seems to be doing it in 2nd, 3, 4 gears also when i romp on it. i wonder if this is a clutch problem, or something else. if i gradually accelerate, it seems to be fine, but it has never done this before. can anyone help with a suggestion? im dreading a clutch replacement if this is the issue.

thanks!

If in lower gears it will accelerate normally, but in higher gears the tach moves up while there is little to no acceleration, your clutch is fried.

youtube clutch slip.
