The owners manual says a little over 9 Qts. That includes the engine block which doesn't normally drain when you open the plug on the radiator. Get 1 Gal of antifreeze (concentrate)(not from dealer!) and mix it with 1 Gal of Distilled Water (not tap water).

Those two gallons of mix should be more than enough.

is oky to have other brand antifreeze fluid to mix with OEM fluid? i heard when drain/refill might have air bubble get into, i mean.......does it need more work need to be done?

Simple DIY. Drain and fill. It will not hurt anything mixing brands of coolant. After you drive for a day, let the motor cool, check your reserve tank, if its low, top it off (it will have markers on it), your good to go. No extra work needed.

Make sure to open the brethe/burp fitting on the heater hoses between the firewall and the plenum to release the air in the system.

hey guys, to add to this does any brand of antifreeze matter? the brand i've used in the past has always been prestone. however, i've been shopping around and there's always the store brand vs name brand. i know people here are picky about their fuel, oil, gear lube, brake fluid, how about antifreeze coolant? i always stick with the brand name for piece of mind, but i wonder if it counts in this situation.

Coolant is coolant IMO. However, I'm a Prestone man and have been using it in all my cars for years. They make a pre-mixed 50/50 version too. It makes it easier than having to dillute pure coolant with distilled water...

Cool, good to know that prestone works with our cars. When I was doing the 60k coolant change, the Nissan dealer was saying I should use the Nissan Coolant since the "engine is special". I'm definitely changing to preston next time, maybe at the 45k interval.

Did you flush the coolant at 30k? or is this the first time?

Nissan's coolant is well worth the $20/gal. Get some distilled water from the grocery store to go with it and you're set for years.

Anyone here change it themselves. I can only find 2 plugs in the block, I can not find the plug on the left side. The manual says 3, is it wrong or am I just completely missing this thing. I see the right plug, its in the back of the motor and looks like it will be fun to get out.

It is clearly marked 2 posts above yours, the air relief plug. I opened mine with a phillips screwdriver, just make you don't drop it and lose it. This pic is from the passengers side behind the plenum, by the way new o rings are like $2.75 each.
