clockspring?...
so yesterday i was pulling out of autozone.. and while i am driving i noticed that my wheel wouldnt turn to the right.. (only left) without thinking i forced the wheel to turn right to aviod hitting other cars and i heard something inside my steering wheel snap!
shortly after that my horn doesnt work , cruise control buttons dont work, and my airbag sensor light is blinking..
questions: 1. how can that happen?
2. is it the clockspring?
3.since im not under warranty no more how much is the piece (if it is the spring)

possible. . .
it's very possible it could be the clockspring. . .it sounds as if the wheel locked as if the car was turned off and steering wheel lock engaged, which i believe is controlled by the clockspring. . .i've changed a clock spring on a Lincoln LS because the airbag light wouldn't turn off and all tests pointed to clockspring. . .if you know how to take off your airback in the steering wheel use a volt meter in the air bag connector to see if you are getting a reading while turning the steering wheel, if you get nothing then the clockspring is bad. . .but beware that you don't set off the airbag while messing with it. . .take the proper steps to disarm the air bag first. . .
