Shifting from 1st to 2nd
Does anyone else have grinding when taking 1st to the red line and shifting into 2nd? I have had it happen to me twice now and I was hoping that I'm not the only one. I am no professional racecar driver but I do consider myself to be a fairly good driver/racer (I think). To me it feels like a tranny issue and not me F*cking up the clutch release. If I am the only one then maybe I need to reassess my driving skills…

Had the identically same problem, 2nd gear grind only (although it didn't grind ALL the time, just occasionally and always near redline shifts). I was annoyed, took it to the dealer, went for a ride with the tech, demonstrated the grind & thats it!
They ordered a new transmission, called me back in like 2 weeks. I dropped the car off in the morning, picked it up in the after noon. New tranny in, the grind gone!
hope this helps,
MS

I have the EXACT same symtoms.
Get this though, I had my tranny replaced around 2 months ago.
The problem is still there, only occassionally and ONLY at redline. when its there, its severe though. This is definitely a tranny issue and not me just being careless.
I'm waiting on a call back for an OK with another replacement.

I have the same problem.
I went to the dealer and they test drove it. They also felt it and told me to call Nissan Consumer Affair. 1800-nissan1. I called them. They told me that they are going to contact the dealer and call me back. After few day, they called me back and said that because the car is new I should wait until the car breaks in. My car has 4.5K mi. I insisted that there is something wrong with my transmission and that its not right. They said they will call the dealer again. Few hours later, the dealer called me back and said that they are going to order new transmission. I hope I don't have the same problems.
