Timing chain cover oil leak
I have some oil that seems to be leaking from around the small black cover on the right front of the engine. I think this is the timing chain cover?
I assume its most likely a seal that has worn, what is the best plan of action to fixing this? I was going to drian the oil, remove the 3 bolts, put a new sealing ring (shaped like the cover i assume) or maybe use good sealant, and re mount the cover? Any thoughts? thanks

after close inspection, not sure the oil is coming from there, the furthest right pulley facing into the engine bay, i think this maybe the ac pulley. Somewhere above it the oil is dripping down. It could even be coming from the dipstick area. Could oil really be forcing its way up the tube and dripping below? Any suggestions to finding out if this is the source? Right now the oil is drained for other reasons, wondering if it was over filled last time i topped it off....
If it was coming from the timing chain cover, there is no seal. The factory uses a silicone bead. Pull it off, scrape away the old, lay down a new bead and reinstall.
If it's coming from the dipstick area, it might be nothing serious. Could be as stupid as someone checking your oil and "missing the hole" or something.
Best to clean the areas the best you can and recheck them again later to see if you can figure out exactly where the fluid is coming from.
