Default Window rolls down automatically

my pass window rolls down halfway by its self, after i roll it up all the way.

i have to hold the window switch up and press the window lock button to keep it closed full. When u open/close the door the window doesnt auto seal up or down.

will the reset work?

when it starts to roll back down on its own, it means that your window lift motor is about to fail. give it another a month or so and it will fail.

you can obviously replace the motor or take it apart and clean it. this usually allows you to squeeze a little bit more life out of them. fyi, i am on my 2nd replacement motor. yay nissan.

start studying how to tear apart the door panel

makes no sense, nissan is weak. Those motors should be free. Worthless garbage.

damn i have this same problem, even gets to the point where when i close the door it rolls down sometimes. According to the manual it does that automatically when it senses that something is blocking the window from closing all the way, in my case my tint is slightly peeling at the top of the window so i thought thats the reason, but if this is happening to you as well, not good news...

how much is it to get the motor replaced?

I'm on my 3rd motor and it failed again (won't go up or down). My advisor quoted me $320ish for part and labor. Good deal?

Search for the DIY on cleaning the motor. Worst case scenario if you mess it up you have to get a new one anyway. To be honest its not that hard to do and the instructions are pretty good.

Just another alternative. Good winter type project (assuming you have a garage and or live in california)

I don't believe that the motor is the problem. I had this problem on my maxima. I was able to correct it by resetting the window. The trick was to hold down a button behind the door handle (pull out the control and reach inside the door). Then while holding down that button roll the window down (not auto), then roll the window up (not auto). Let go and you are done.

My 06 did the same thing but was under warranty the dealer said that they had to "reprogram" the window what ever that means but I'V had no trouble since then which was about a month ago.

Motor: $161.00 at PepBoys; $40 for the installation. So far, so good. That's one of the 2 nuisances our beaZts suffer from: That, & the gas latch release thingy. Other than that, My 'O4 Touring Coupe's a dream come true at just the right price--$20,500, with only 13k on it (still with that new car scent!!!). NO overheating, FLAWLESS AT, NO feathering, NO oil-consumption issues, two weeks out of a tankful...That's my baby!
