Default Crank Pulley FTL...

Whats up everyone. Got some horrible news about my car last week..

Cliff notes:

Car wont accelerate correctly and popped a Solenoid/Sensor for both Cams CEL.. like over a month ago.

Take car to Nissan stealership... They tell me its my quick release steering wheel messing with the ECM. I lol and took my keys

Take car to friend at Tires PLus - has the car for a week and changes both valve solenoids and both cam sensors and crank sensor - doesnt fix the car or even improve it. He thinks ECM is fried or needs to be reflashed

Take car to Celebrity Nissan... The diagnoses is my crank pulley has been wobbling for some time I guess.. they took it off and realised the pulley has destroyed the keyway and the main seal and some dowel pin towards the front. They couldnt put the pulley back on.

There suggestion is new engine or 30 hours of labor to replace crankshaft..

Call shop that installed crank pulley set over a year ago and they gave me 4 scenarios:

1. This is what Im hoping will work... Replace keyway with new one and retrofit to crankshaft with a new crank pully since the crank didnt walk

2. $1600 for replace and removal of crankshft as well as sending everything out to make sure clearances are perfect

3. Short block already upgraded for around $2500 plus install plus new clutch and flywheel

4. Used engine for about $2100 shipped from a pull and pay type place.. Plus install and while in there new clutch and flywheel.

Any ideas on what option to go with? I really dont have money for this ... it will be going on a credit card thats why Im hoping option 1 will work.

It was a used UR crank pulley lightened and underdriven. BTW.

Thanks for your help guys.

Sucks. But if the key is hosed, there isn't much you can do.

Well Ive heard of people removing the old keyway.. filling that part in with an epoxy or jbweld and then cutting a new keyway hole inserting a new key and remounting the pulley. Thats what Im hoping is possible.

There's no way to "fix" the keyway, especially with epoxy or JBweld. You could fill it with weld then cut a new one or cut a larger keyway (if possible) then get a new key and enlarge the one on the crank pulley. Is it worth that much effort? Probably not.
