Default Compression testing?

Quick question - when doing a compression test on the VQ35 (2004.5 Z) whats the easiest way to keep the engine from firing when you turn it over? I've heard of pulling the fuel pump fuse but wasn't sure what the correct way was (if any). Thanks,

Just found my own answer, which is ... "yes, remove the fuse".
