Unhappy Ripped Top

Hi guys! I'm new to the forum. Hope you guys can help me. I just bought a 350Z Grand Touring Roadster. I am so glad I got this car. It's more than I ever thought.
I bought the car on New Years Eve to start 2009 with a bang. The very next day I went to work and someone slashed my top in the parking lot. I can't stand haters.
The rip is located on the passenger side upper rear corner along the seam. Is there any suggestions on how to repair this without replacing the whole top??

You might take it to a shop that specializes in top installation and repair and ask them if it is repairable. Personally I would prefer to have the top completely replaced rather than have some glue or stitching holding the tear together. Wouldn't a top replacement be covered under your comprehensive insurance coverage? After all, it was vandalized.

Insurance should cover that. Depending on your insurance, it might go up though. Z's are one of those cars that thieves and vandals target.

I figured out as much. I just didnt want to face the fact that I would have to change the top after just a few weeks of ownership.
