homelink garage door opener failed
I come home yesterday unable to open my garage door. Fortunately my wife was home, or I'd have been locked out!
the homelink in her car still works, as do the hand held remotes... so it's just my car. I go to reset my homelink (I have rolling code door opener) and It keeps blinking like it learned my code at step 4 (rapidly flashing)
has this happened to anyone else? hopefully I can just get the mirror replaced.

Both of mine are acting up my dad and I cant figure it out. We have one to open the gate, and the other for the garage. The hand helds work, and the homelink in the envoy works. What happens in ours is that we program the buttons, but after a day or so one button opens both the gate and garage.?. This happens in both Z's.
My dad doesnt think the problem is in the homelink, yet. We are gonna try and figure it out one more time. How did you program yours?

I just programed mine yesterday,it opened & closed a couple of times without any problems.(I also have that rolling code)
I would erase the memory in the car home link unit and start over again. And if that doesn't work turn the garage door unit off for a minute and then turn it on again.

I think it's just the signal from this particular homelink unit (in the rear-view mirror) is poorly designed. The homelink in my old lexus worked every time.
I have a g-35 coupe, but it's the same homelink mirror. What I have to do is i'll just hold down the button the entire time I'm rolling up to my garage. Probably about 10 feet. I've had it happen where it doesn't open, where I had to get out and punch in my code. It kinda sucks, but mine works ~90% of the time.
p.s. I'm in south florida, and usually when I use it it's 90+ degrees and it works.

We follow the instructions in the manual and it doesnt work. We actually have to use a sparate switch to make the link work. How did you guys program yours? any steps we can follow?

If your system uses a rolling code you need to place your opener into training mode. There is a button - usually on the back of the motor unit mounted in the garage ceiling. You then have a short time to press your honelink button several times to blink fast at each code - mine took three repeated codes.
I have both garages working from the day I brought the car home with no problems. - Two weeks now.

It actually worked for about 3 months. Then on friday it stopped.
I'm bringing it in to the dealership tomorow... hopefully they will give me one with a compass in it to replace my non-functional one.

Mine was working fine for a few weeks then quit. Now I'm not able to even clear the memory. Took it into the dealer today and when they told me they needed to replace the mirror I asked if I could pay the difference and get the one with the compass. They told me that wasnt possible since the compass mirror is a dealer aftermarket product and whatever they replace during a warranty repair has to be replaced with the same part. I thought that sounded bogus but when I called Nissan I was told the same story. Hope this next homelink mirror last longer than a couple week.
I dont have a rolling code on the opener.

Mine fails sometime...........The first button don't lite up when I press it while the second and third lights up. The reason I say sometimes is because when i shut my engine off, and turn it back on, then the homelink works again....
