I need to do this. Not only to relieve some of my anxiety, but to help other dudes. I dont know about everyone else, but I examine my Z under a microscope using all my senses. Heres the noises I hear. Please tell me if they are normal and if you have any similar experiences:

1. "Thumping" sound at idle. (Does it when it's cold, and I think it does it at operating temperature too). Similar to this probably: https://my350z.com/forum/showthread....ht=brake+clunk

2. "Rattling" when in neutral and car is at idle. It sounds just like a bad throwout bearing (is this really something to be concerned about? I noticed this post here https://my350z.com/forum/showthread....threadid=29503

3. When I hit the brake for the first time in the morning, I hear a quick "clunk" sound come from the rear of the car. After that, I usually never hear it again. Always on the initial "brake." Any ideas?

 

Same here, I exactly experiece the same..... I really don't know what to do, I can never replicated the problems at the dealer, always happen in the morning when car is cold..... Is this normal????

What's your car production date??? My is Sep/02.

 

Production date is 9-02 as well. Going to dealer on Friday. I have a list of other problems to take care of. I may mention this
